I've been tryin' to get down to the Heart of the Matter
But my will gets weak
And my thoughts seem to scatter
But I think it's about forgiveness...
But my will gets weak
And my thoughts seem to scatter
But I think it's about forgiveness...
(from The Heart of the Matter, Don Henley)
"So what's next?", he asked today in therapy.
Forgiveness. By the end of the session, I understood that this was the next step.
We fall. We get up. We forgive ourselves. We go on.
He also said that forgiveness does not mean that I am condoning the act. It is just forgiveness. I did not know it, but I needed to hear that. It was my permission to forgive myself.
I am not proud of the fact that I hurt myself, but I can forgive myself and move on.
What's next?
What's next?
It has been said ('by whom?" . . .'not sure; but it has been said:..), we get good answers by asking good questions. Seems that this is a good question. Keep being attentive to what your question entails.
